Breaking news and malware scams
It's the same collateral effect that happened when the miners here in Chile got trapped.
Extensive mail chains where created with the purpose of bring people's attention, and what those e-mails contained was for sure a picture of a video of the most anticipated moment, for example: 'miners alive exclusive video' or now 'osama hanged of a tree (exclusive footage?)'. Still i wonder if people really get caugth with this messages.
I guess we are not the only ones that put attention to news anymore, hackers also are doing it, and they are taking advantage of them.
So all i'm saying is that no country is free anymore of internet hackers, the only thing we can do to be more secure it's a more educated population in matters of internet traffic and dargers.

I know I never fall for these anymore, but my grandparents? That's an entirely different story.
ResponderEliminarglad you brought this up
ResponderEliminarAnything big that happens you can be sure that someone will take advantage of the public's interest.
ResponderEliminarSi caen en cosas así se lo merecen.
ResponderEliminarHablando en serio, hay gente que conozco que tampoco son muy hábiles en usar internet, aún así, su regla principal es "No hacer clicks en links extraños".
I hadn't even thought of this. Thanks for sharing
ResponderEliminarThe easiest way to spread something is to use trending keywords. It makes perfect sense.
ResponderEliminarYeah, I've noticed that. Everyone is out to get more from themselves and less for everyone else these days, even at the expense of others. If you know any family and friends who may not be as informed as you are, make sure you tell them about things like this.
ResponderEliminarAgreed with CPH. My friend does that with his site.
ResponderEliminarit is funny when people get scammed by these things i dont understand how some people can be that dumb
ResponderEliminarI think I need to keep this in mind.
ResponderEliminarWhy would you open such a suspicious email
ResponderEliminarHate these people. Every time a wave of these happen all my dumber relatives fall for them. You'd think they learn after the first time they get burnt
ResponderEliminarI wonder too how effective these things are. But with Windows STILL hiding file extensions by default for what ever reason (please someone tell me the reason I never got that), such stuff might really have some success.
ResponderEliminarWhat the third poster says. Either way, people need to be more aware of the "dangers" of the Internet. Scamming, virus and such. Some need to try and fail to learn though, sadly.
ResponderEliminarthanks for the info
ResponderEliminarSome of these malware scam emails seem very legitimate and professional, very tempting for people to want to click them and see what's inside.
ResponderEliminarNumber one thing I recommend to all my clients at work. Don't open email that you don't recognize or you don't expect, and get yourself a good antivirus. Freaking scammers.
ResponderEliminarPreying on people's trust and emotional gullibility...how terrible.
ResponderEliminarhahahah, por people link the link, these malwares are for scam mails and account banks
